Home-Made Spa Day!

What is worse than being sick? getting sick when you are home on your break! Seriously! I have things to do and people to see! But then that gives me an excuse to sleep a lot and come up with fun ways to pamper myself!
The nice thing about begin home is there is lots of stuff! and not just random stuff, but stuff I need to do projects with that I don't have conveniently available to me at college, only so much can be stuffed into a dorm room.
And so since I am home I had the ingredients needed to make this face mask I found on YouTube a couple months ago, it sounded super easy and fun! Its supposed to help with acne and with dark spots. So I gave it a shot!

So you just paint the stuff on your face, I felt like I was icing a cake..... but it was my face.... anyway it was all fine and dandy till I realized that you are supposed to leave it on for 30 minutes.
30 minutes.
How was I supposed to be able to do that!!!! And then my nose itched! Of course it just had to itch when my nose was covered in this sticky honey concoction! But of course this was only the beginning to my problems...
I'm melting!!!! Literally. The goo was sliding off my face slowly dripping into the sink, this was going to be the longest 30 minuets of my life!!!!! If the stuff stayed on my face for that long anyway!
Then my mom walked past the bathroom. Her eyes widened in fright probably since she had just cleaned the bathroom... She just stared at me in shock I could literally hear her screaming in her head, then she gasped, "what is on your face."I just laughed, and quickly explained to her. Later on she ushered my dad over, "What did you do?!" Ode to joy for parents. One of the blogs I read described the mixture as chocolate,  my parents imagined it as something totally different.
That's when my hair started sticking to my face.
When would 30 minuets be over?
Then my nose itched again. This time it was an itch I couldn't ignore! It intensified as the seconds ticked away as I tried in vain to ignore it!
And so I wasted 30 minuets of my life in the hope of better skin! But I believe it was totally worth it! Yay for girl reasoning! My skin was super soft as I washed the mix off my face with warm water. Hooray for good skin!

Merry Christmas, Lets Eat!

Merry Christmas!
And so once again I find time to blog! And it is a very good thing too since I come bearing a wonderful  gift! I have the most amazing recipe yummmmmmmmmmmmmm!

MayI present La Bete Noire! So by the name you could probably tell its french! So now its automatically gonna be super good, but when I was trying to figure out what the translation was it wasn't sounding so good.... so Noire means black but I didn't have a clue what Bete meant! And so I called upon my awesome  cousin who lives in France! Through the wonderful world of Facebook I learned that Bete meant stupid or idiot..... well now we were both confused! Why would a chocolate torte be stupid????  So she called upon a french friend to help explain. The explanation is,  "La Bete Noire is also like the person that is always guilty so in the case of a dessert, it's a guilty thing" Which is a perfect description of this torte!

Be prepared for a wonderful chocolaty sensation from this flour-less torte!

So to update the past couple of weeks.....
For the De-stress fest I had designed the poster, which my boss loved! It ended up on the main college website, which was a big deal my boss informed me! For the event I also designed the T-shirts we gave away! 500 T-shirts were printed to give away!

A co-worker and I at the De-Stress Fest with Champ our mascot.

I snuck a T-shirt for my brother!

And so I was done with School the first day of finals but I stayed for another week to work but that allowed me time to hang out with my friends in Bozeman! I kept busy with two jobs so I didn't have anytime to get in trouble!  haha :) I barely had anytime to do Christmas shopping!

Advice From an Art School

It is finally all done!!!! well almost....
This morning at the wonderful hour of eight O'clock poor little me had to walk across the perils of icy campus to a exciting Art History exam, but the hope and light at the end of the tunnel that guided me through this horrible experience was ITS  OUR LAST ONE! -except part two of the art history course is next semester.... oh well!
After the excitement of being tested on Romanesque and Gothic architecture, which included my favorite cathedral, the Reims Cathedral! (I got to see it in France while I was there, creepy angel....!!!!) Next was our 2D recitation. Mr. Dean of course had a great lecture we learned all kinds of really great facts about life.

"Wear different shoes every day, they are the most important, so invest money in good shoes!"

Oh yessir my art professor told us this, of course he meant so you don't have back problems and what not, but I kind of interpreted it a little different... :) He then taught us how we should wash our hair, manage our time, fall in love, take risks, have confidence, and then the best lesson of all, don't get herpes.

"You can get herpes anywhere, from hand rails, doorknobs, shouldn't have this been on national television like everyday!"

When Dean was a grad student some med student mis-diagnosed him with herpes cause he had a corneal scratch and they figured it was from herpes, but it wasn't so he was just fine. But Dean made sure we all understood that we shouldn't touch our eyes so we don't get herpes! Gotta love Art School!

But alas I am glad this week is starting to wind down! It has been crazy studying for a final and working on my capstone. My dorm room totally looks like an artsy fartsy tornado ripped through here! But I still have a math final next week (which is the real finals week...). So ready for this semester to be done and move on to a new one!

And so I am finally posting about my capstone project! So what we had to do was listen to a sound on ubu.com. But these songs are not normal songs they are super messed up theres screaming and scratching and banging on pots, just really odd stuff. But I found one called tri-cello which is kind normal. So anyway I mapped out the entire 9 minute song in 30 second increments  whew that took forever! Next I painted on watercolor paper with gouache, I used salt to add dimension and interest, and then covered the entire thing in a veil of sheer black fabric! The whole thing turned out to be about 12 feet long! But it was very worth it!

In the process of making the 12 foot monster

up on the wall in the studio

We experimented with the lighting :)
